Library Status

Many of the public libraries across Cochise County are offering modified services as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  The table below provides information about the status of each library as they work toward phased reopening.

Even at library locations that are closed, staff may be available to answer questions by phone.  If you are unable to reach a staff member at your library, or you have general questions, please call the Library District at 520-432-8930 or email aricketts@cochise.az.gov.

Library ebooks, digital audiobooks, and other digital materials are available 24/7, even when the libraries are closed. 

Library Status Services offered
Benson Public Library Open/Limited As of March 5, 2021, the Benson Public Library is open for appointments. Appointment are up to 45 minutes, from 10 am to 4 pm. Computers are limited to 1 use per day. There is no seating, newspapers, magazines, personal Computers or restrooms. Please call the library at 586-9535 with any questions.
Bisbee's Copper Queen Library Closed/Limited Closed to the public, but curbside pickup service is available at the Main Library and the San Jose Annex. Items may be returned to drop boxes, and staff are available by phone at 520-432-4232, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Wifi is available from outside the Main Library (6 Main St.) and the Copper Queen Library San Jose Annex (519 W. Melody Lane).

Douglas Public Library Open/Limited The library is currently open to patrons with limited services and hours of operation to allow for best practices developed in response to COVID-19, as follows:

The library is open by appointment only, from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday - Friday. All appointments will begin at the top of the hour and end after 45 minutes to allow for sanitizing between appointments.


A limited number of appointments will be available each hour for both the library and computer lab. Please call to schedule at least 24 hours in advance.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for children’s library use.

The library’s Curbside Pickup Service will continue to be available from 11 am to 3 pm. Please call to schedule a pickup.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

Patrons entering the library will be required to wear a face mask, as outlined in the City of Douglas proclamation.

Those unable to wear a face mask may contact us to conduct business online, by phone, email, mail, or at curbside.

The library will be sanitized to every extent possible.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available for use upon entry and as needed inside the library.

Social distancing must be maintained.

Huachuca City Public Library Closed/Limited To help slow the spread of COVID-19, the library building is closed to the public as of December 30, 2020. Curbside pickup for library materials is available, and staff are available to answer calls Tuesday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm, at 520-456-1063.

Wifi access is available from the library parking lot, 24/7, and ebooks and digital materials are always available.
Sierra Vista Public Library Open/Limited As of Wednesday, January 13, the Sierra Vista Public Library will return to Curbside-Only service.

Patrons may schedule an hour block of time in which to pick up their items. To facilitate contact-free appointments, all items will be bagged, marked with the patron’s last name, and placed outside of the building already checked-out so that patrons may grab-and-go. For immediate curbside assistance, simply call us from the 10-minute roundabout.

Curbside Service is available 10 am – 7 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 4 pm on Friday, and 10 am – 2 pm on Saturday. The computer lab will be open from 10 am – 1 pm, Monday through Thursday.

The café inside the library lobby remains open for to-go orders 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Patrons are asked to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet and wear a face covering when entering the facility.
Tombstone City Library Open The library is open from 8 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday.
Willcox's Elsie. S. Hogan Community Library Open/Limited The library is working toward a phased reopening. Computer access and circulation services are available on a limited basis, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.

Curbside pickup of library materials is available between 10 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. To arrange for curbside pickup, or find out about other library services, please call library staff at 520-766-4250.
(CCLD) Bowie's Jimmie Libhart Library Open/Limited Computer access is offered by appointment, on Mondays and Tuesdays. One person is admitted at a time, with a time limit of 45 minutes, and masks are required.

The library is still offering a range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials and copy/fax service. If you need computer access but prefer to remain outside, laptops are available to use outside the building by appointment. Library wifi is available from 6 am to 8 pm daily.

(CCLD) Elfrida Library Open/Limited Computer access is offered by appointment, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. One person is admitted at a time, with a time limit of 45 minutes, and masks are required.

The library is still offering a range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials and copy/fax service. If you need computer access but prefer to remain outside, laptops are available to use outside the building by appointment. Library wifi is available from 6 am to 8 pm daily.

(CCLD) Portal's Myrtle Kraft Library Closed/Limited As of January 5, indoor computer use appointments are suspended until further notice.

The library is still offering a range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials and copy/fax service. If you need computer access but prefer to remain outside, laptops are available to use outside the building by appointment. Library wifi is available from 6 am to 8 pm daily.

(CCLD) Sunizona's Alice Woods Library Closed/Limited Closed to the public, but curbside pickup service and copy/fax services are available. Wifi is available outside, 7 am to 7 pm daily, and the library has laptops available for use from the parking area, by appointment. Call 520-824-3145 if you have questions.
(CCLD) Sunsites Community Library Closed/Limited Closed to the public, but curbside pickup and copy/fax services are available. Wifi available outside, 6 am to 8 pm daily, and laptops available by appointment for outside use. Call 520-826-3866 if you have questions.
