Library Status

After modifying their services in 2020 to slow the spread of COVID-19, libraries across Cochise County are reopening and expanding in-person services. The approach to reopening varies by community, and the table below provides information about each library's current status.

Library ebooks, digital audiobooks, and other digital materials are available 24/7, even when the libraries are closed. 

Library Status Services offered
Benson Public Library Open The Benson Public Library is open 10 am - 6 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Fridays.

Bisbee's Copper Queen Library Open/Limited As of Monday, May 17, the Main Library has returned to its regular business hours (12-7 pm on Monday and Tuesday, 10 am - 5 pm Wednesday through Friday, and 10 am - 2 pm Saturday), and is offering modified services without requiring appointments.

Curbside service remains available for those who want it, and Friday curbside service will continue to be offered at the San Jose Annex. Read more about the service changes here.

Douglas Public Library Open As of Saturday, August 7, Douglas Public Library has added Saturday hours. The new weekly schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10 am - 6 pm, Friday 10 am - 5 pm, and Saturday 10 am - 1 pm.

Please note that a mask is required for everyone entering the library.


Curbside Pick-Up Service remains available at the library’s front entrance on 10th St., Monday – Friday, 11 am – 4 pm.

Huachuca City Public Library Open As of Tuesday, May 18, the library is returning to its regular service hours: 9 am - 5 pm Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 am - 6 pm Thursday and Friday, and 10 am - 5 pm Saturday.

Patrons entering the library are encouraged to wear masks, sanitize their hands, and practice social distancing.


Curbside service will still be available for patrons who wish to continue using it.

Wifi access is available from the library parking lot, 24/7, and ebooks and digital materials are always available.
Sierra Vista Public Library Open The library building is open from 10 am – 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm on Friday, and 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday.

Curbside checkout service is also available. For curbside checkout, please place holds using the library catalog. You will receive a notice when your items are ready for pickup. When you go to pick them up, call library staff at 520-515-4900 for assistance.

The café inside the library lobby remains open for to-go orders 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday.

Library visitors are encouraged to follow CDC recommendations.

Tombstone City Library Open The library is open from 8 am to 12 pm, and 1 pm to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
Willcox's Elsie. S. Hogan Community Library Open/Limited The library is working toward a phased reopening. Computer access and circulation services are available on a limited basis, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.

Curbside pickup of library materials is available between 10 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. To arrange for curbside pickup, or find out about other library services, please call library staff at 520-766-4250.
(CCLD) Bowie's Jimmie Libhart Library Open/Limited The Bowie Library is open for browsing and computer use on a limited basis. No more than two visitors may be inside the library at one time. Masks are strongly recommended, and library users are asked to keep their visits brief.

The library continues to offer a range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials and copy/fax service.

Library wi-fi is available outside the building from 6 am to 8 pm daily, and the library has laptops available for outside use, by appointment. Library ebooks and digital materials are available 24/7.

(CCLD) Elfrida Library Open/Limited The library is currently offering grab-and-go browsing and computer access. No more than two visitors (or two households) are admitted at a time, with a time limit of 45 minutes, and masks are strongly recommended.

The library is still offering a range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials and copy/fax service. If you need computer access but prefer to remain outside, laptops are available to use outside the building by appointment. Library wifi is available from 6 am to 8 pm daily.

(CCLD) Portal's Myrtle Kraft Library Open/Limited The library currently offers computer access and grab-and-go browsing. Access is limited to two visitors at a time, and face masks are strongly recommended. Browsing may last up to 20 minutes, and computer use up to 45 minutes.

The library continues to offer a wide range of services outside the building, including curbside pickup for library materials, mobile printing, and copy/fax service.

Library wi-fi is available outside the building from 6 am to 8 pm daily, and the library has laptops available for outside use. Library ebooks and digital materials are available 24/7.

(CCLD) Sunizona's Alice Woods Library Open/Limited The library is open for limited browsing and computer access, as well as curbside pickup. The number of visitors is limited, stays should be brief, and masks are strongly encouraged. Additional services are available outside the library building.

Library books and other items are available for curbside pickup service, and copy/fax service is available. Library wi-fi is available from the parking area from 6 am to 8 pm daily, and laptops are available to use on the library grounds, by request.

(CCLD) Sunsites Community Library Open/Limited The Sunsites Community Library is currently offering pop-in browsing and computer access during business hours. Appointments are not necessary, but masks are strongly recommended, and only two visitors (or households) may be inside the the library at a time.

Curbside pickup service is still available for anyone who prefers not to come in, and copy/fax services are still offered curbside-only.

Ebooks and other digital materials are available 24/7, and library wi-fi is available outside the building from 6 am to 8 pm daily. If you have questions, please call 520-826-3866 or email sunsitescurbside@gmail.com.
