Finn is a loner, living with his dad and his dog Dylan. This summer Finn wants a job where he doesn't have to talk to anyone except his friend Matthew. Then he meets Johanna, who is staying next door. She is in her twenties, cool, funny, and treats him like an equal. Johanna is dealing with cancer and Finn decides to help her out. She hires him to create a garden and helps him discover his hidden talent for connecting with people.
